RECLAIM THE FRAME - SEAHORSE: THE DAD WHO GAVE BIRTH - Q&A SCREENING

Reclaim The Frame & Birds Eye View: A Pathfinder For Films By Women present a special screening of Seahorse: The Dad Who Gave Birth at HOME on Sunday 1st September from 6pm which we will be supporting as Make A Scene Film Club.

Seahorse is the story of 30 year old Freddy who yearns to start a family. As a gay transgender man he decides to carry his own baby but he was unprepared for the reality of pregnancy, both physically and challenging society’s fundamental understanding of gender and family. To him what feels pragmatic, to others feels confronting; this was not part of his plan. Against a backdrop of hostility towards trans people, he is forced to confront his naivety.

This documentary is made with unprecedented access and collaboration and is billed as an audacious and lyrical story about what makes us who we are.

We want to see as many Make A Scene Film Club members and Reclaim the Frame supporters down at this, the only screening of the film scheduled for Manchester. Following the screening there will be an audience Q&A discussion with Freddy McConnell
