This year, we are working with Live Cinema UK on two incredible immersive, all-singing all-dancing events… First up, is our first ever national film tour and it’s of one of our favourite ever shows. We first did a our rock-a-long immersive screenings of Queer cinema cult-classic, Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Texture in 2017 as part of Queer Contact and we had such a great reaction from you guys we’re so super happy to be brinnging it back and taking it around the country.

Each screening is adapted for the cinema and includes a live performance element, hosted by Make a Scene hostess Grace Oni Smith as Hedwig as well as signing along, immersive and interactive amazingness, lighting, a wig off and even the chance to join Hedwig’s band The Angry Inch.

Come dressed up as your fave characters or, as a minimum, pull the wig down from the shelf and come wearing a gorgeous wig. The best wig and hair creations will be rewarded!

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH

Director: John Cameron Mitchell / USA / 2001 / 95 mins / Rated 15 / Trailer

Adapted from the critically acclaimed off-Broadway rock theatre hit, this is the story of an ‘internationally ignored’ rock singer, Hedwig. Surviving a botched sex change, she search for love and liberation through her songs. See John Cameron Mitchell’s underground queer rock musical as you’ve never experienced it before. Grace Oni Smith will be performing as the internationally ignored songstress herself whilst Hedwig is given a full raucous, way-too-interactive treatment with audience participation, singing along, dressing up and the chance to join backing band The Angry Inch.
