Popular films can be the best films of the year! The two things are not different!

Yes Jason Statham monster shark movie The Meg is out this week but fuck us gently with a chainsaw Heathers is back in cinemas for a 30th anniversary 4k rerelease so obviously is our film of the week!
There might be more screenings of it near you but all we can see here in Manchester is one 7pm screening at Printworks Vue but that's enough...let's smuggle in booze and quote a long! This 80s Winona Ryder vehicle is the ultimate high school movie and a total dark, twisted, camp classic!

Or if you're looking for something more modern, HOME's amazing Young Film Programmers have put on a rare screening of 1960s Japenese queer feature Funeral Parade of Roses to get you ready for Pride! with .Toshio Matsumoto’s pioneering debut feature is a delirious descent into the underground queer scene of 1960s Tokyo that rails against the establishment whilst playfully negotiating young queer people’s right to the city. Glorious!
