Friday 23 August, 7pm at The Refuge: 

Beyond 'There's Always a Black Issue, Dear' is a Critically acclaimed new doc delving into real-life stories of the UK LGBT Black experience and the impact of a community of diverse, creative and resilient individuals. Meet Director Claire Lawrie and Winn Austin, one of the trans women whose story forms part of the film.
 


Saturday 24, 4.30pm at No 70 Oxford St

‘This Is My Face’ follows a group of Chilean men who make their HIV+ status visible on their own terms in a powerful and beautiful work by filmmaker Angelica Cabezas. Showing on a double bill with ‘Carmen’, a musical spectacular featuring members of a drag queen community in Panama with introduction by artist Humberto Velez who worked on the project. 



Saturday 24, 9pm at The Refuge: 

Manchester premiere! Superbia presents Deep in Vogue at The Refuge. Festival-headlining doc follows legendary children of the North West vogue scene. House of Ghetto, Decay, Suarez and others discuss life-giving experiences in vogue and the power of queer expression.

Sunday 25 August, 5.45pm at No 70 Oxford St: 

LesFlicks presents ‘JT LeRoy’ (Justin Kelly, 2019). Brand new biopic starring Kristen Stewart & Laura Dern based on the memoir ‘Girl Boy Girl: How I Became JT Leroy’ by Savannah Knoop. Knoop spent 6 years masquerading as 'Laura Albert' and her literary sensation 'Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy' before being dramatically unmasked.


All screenings are FREE except Deep In Vogue which costs five pound + booking fee and includes sensational after-party featuring House of Ghetto performers & DJs till late!
